Urban Assault 2012

By | Photography, WP Downhill | No Comments

Most of you know me for filming at the WP Downhill races but this event I decided to give it a bash with some stills; thanks to Ewald Sadie, Mr. ESP, for lending me a flash and acting like the super cool pro that he is.
With a new course for this year’s Urban assault, the slopes of signal hill down into the Bo-Kaap had the riders’ work cut out for them and many a tyre did not make it to the bottom inflated. It was good to see the big names back in the country and taking top honors at this year’s Urban Assault event.

I think the biggest treat was for the Bo-Kaap locals who had a spiced up Sunday afternoon with DH riders cruising past their balconies and terraces; bringing the entire neighborhood onto the streets and proving to be one of the most supported events so far this season.
With the level of riding constantly on the rise I am really looking forward to the WP champs at Tokai on the 24th of November this year. Read More

Rocking The Daisies 2012

Rocking the daisies is a music festival held once a year at Cloof wine estate in Darling, a estimated 15000 people attended this years event. This video is a collection of time lapses during the course of the weekend that I took in-between filming for MK studio1 and streaming the festival live – luckily I had a few great camera positions back stage to add to the awesomeness of the festival itself – [angles ,angles, angles !]. Thanks to Paul Charles [PMC] for helping me out with the last shots after a very long weekend. Sit back and enjoy a awesome festival in fast forward.
This video was taken on a Canon 60d using the Magic Lantern firmware and a forced slow frame rate setting. Read More

“Supertubes at its best was what greeted surfers in the Billabong Pro J-Bay 2012 today, the opening day of the event. A solid six to eight-foot of surf groomed by offshore southwest winds and a mid-day low tide made for an incredible day of high performance surfing and perfect barrel rides” Read More
